WOW – Variable Heart Rate Recovery Circuit

1060

Here are some highlights from one of my ‘test bouts’ of variable heart rate recovery training. The goal was to go as hard as possible for 30 sec. then not start another work bout until I came down close to 70% of my max heart rate. You can see that the rest of the crew is doing a traditional 30:30 circuit…I would start a 30 sec. work bout whenever my monitor said I was down to around 70%…this is why I am working sometimes while they are resting etc. I chose to stay with big heart rate boosting moves like sandbag cleans, double unders, KB band swings, KB flips etc. I stayed away from things like TRX rows, planks etc.
