BEST TRAINING TOOL I OWN!
The TRX system has fast become a staple in the conditioning programs of ALL of our intercollegiate athletic teams. Here at College of the Canyons and also in my personal workouts, the TRX has proven to be the most versatile, easy to use, and effective training tool in my toolbox (and believe me, I have A LOT of tools!).

In our present set-up at the college I am able to effectively and efficiently move from 12 volleyball athletes to over 100+ football players through any chosen focus area on the TRX in a matter of minutes. Once we teach our athletes the proper adjustment heights and how to get the systems ready to go we are off and running.
BREAKING DOWN HARDCORE ATHLETES!
In my 20+ years of training athletes for a living, I have never seen a tool that can virtually hit any and all possible muscle movements in one place like the TRX. This is what makes this system so well-suited to the college athlete weightroom environment. These are HARDCORE body weight exercises that will tax and break even the hardest core athlete yet at the same time facilitate athletes that need to develop the strength and power to handle their own body weight
BUILDING UNRIVALED CORE STRENGTH!
For our core it is almost unmatched with exercises like pikes, mountain climbers, supermans, dynamic plank movements, and even handstand holds. For my overhead athletes like my volleyball players, swimmers, softball and baseball players, Track throwers and quarterbacks our pulling circuit consists of exercises such as rows, T’s, W’s, Y’s, hugs and pull-aparts and just destroys muscle movers that are often neglected. If you want to get your pushing done the TRX is no slouch…. push-ups variations galore are no joke.
EXPLOSIVE JUMP CIRCUITS…NO JOKE!
My personal favorite is our explosive jumping circuits. These consist of angled jump squats, 180 degree jumps, split jumps, and pistol (1-leg) squat jumps. We get MORE out of these jumps since the athlete can offset the loads as needed using the TRX. We also use our TRX’s for metabolic, interval style training using timed sets of explosives and other compound exercise movement patterns.

All in all, the TRX is hands-down the training tool of the year. It’s just a matter of time until colleges and universities all over the world are using them like us….until then I’m okay with our little training advantage!
