Someone had posted this video on Facebook and it really facinated me. David Blaine is one of the world’s greatest magicians but here he talks about his quest to break the world record for holding his breath (over 17 minutes!). This is not smoke and mirrors….as David says at the end of this clip “Magic is practice, it’s training, it’s experimentation….while pushing through the pain to be the best you can be”. True inspiration regardless of what you do in your life. The clip is long but truly worthwhile….

TED is an awesome resource that I use a lot, but I find myself more directed to the videos that pertain to teaching—never even THOUGHT of checking out the videos that might relate the to our bodies and fitness, etc. Now I have to go back and finish watching this =)
Ok-I’m crying. What passion for what he does. You know, as certified Lamaze instructor, I’ve taught the art of controlled breathing for over 20 years—we can overcome SO much when we realize the full potential of the mind-body connection, and this David takes it to a whole new level!
He’s a pretty amazing person…..we often don’t give him credit for these challenges he does as most people assume they are all illusion….17 minutes is frickin inhuman!
